It started with a passing "wouldn't that be fun!" — the kind of thing you say when you see a Northern Ontario alpaca farm listed for sale and don't fully expect to follow through on it.
We didn't follow through right away. Life kept moving. But the listing stayed up, and eventually so did the question: what if we actually did this? So we loaded the family into the van and made the long drive north to see it in person. We all fell in love on the spot — not just with the alpacas, but with the land, the quiet, and the particular kind of peace that only comes when you're far from the noise of city life.
